There’s a scam that’s been costing people hundreds of pounds. It’s called the gift card scam. And if there’s one person who can get to the bottom of it, it’s Detective Murphy.

He’s a renegade, a maverick who doesn’t play by the rules. He sleeps one hour a night, he smokes in the shower and rumour has it he once ate a man.

The gift card scam is a surprisingly simple concept, given how effective it has been. It’s just another reminder that although we think we’re not gullible enough to fall for such a scam, we’re all at risk of becoming victims.

Our best defense against these greedy heathens is knowledge. Keep yourselves aware of the new ways that thieves are managing to reach their greasy fingers into your wallets, and if detective Murphy knocks at your door, best not to answer it.
